Spherical mirrors are generally used for ‘simple’ beam shaping tasks or as a passive reflector in expansion telescopes and also for basic beam focusing. These mirrors are used to focus or defocus a beam just very slightly, for example in a telescopic beam extender with a Z-fold. Sometimes these mirrors are also used for simple focusing within laser heads. A range of different sizes and shapes of spherical mirrors are available from LT Ultra, with or without direct water-cooling for use in beam extender telescopes, guidance systems or similar applications. The spherical mirrors with radii up to 400 mm are diamond turned for nanometer accuracy or milled for economy on LT Ultra fly-cutting machines. The more economical fly-cutter version yields accuracies of ± (X%), which is sufficient for the majority of applications. ··· Mehr ··· ![]()
