CO2 Mirror Units
CO2 Mirror Units

All 90° metallic bending mirrors are coplanar on a solid mounting plate fabricated from stainless steel or aluminium with a direct water cooling possibility. This manufacturing concept applies to all mirror types including planar and those with toroidal or parabolic surfaces designed to alter the beam’s properties. When placed at 45°, the form of this coplanar mirror reproduces exactly the cross-sectional area of the laser beam at the point of entry.

These mirrors not only conserve space but also weight when compared with round mirrors. We at LT Ultra can manufacture the mirror contact surface so accurately that when the mirror is exchanged, the deviational tolerance of the beam from its centre-line is less than 0.03mm/m.

Planar mirrors in laser cutting equipment are generally finished with a super enhance reflective (SEC) coating. A phase-shift (PRC) coating is generally used to obtain circular polarized light. Metallic mirrors in welding applications are situated close to the action, and for this reason have to undergo regular cleaning. Such mirrors are generally finished with a tough yet highly reflective molybdenum (MO) coating.

All mirrors with SEC and PRC coatings are tasted for phase shift using our own in-house ellipsometers.

Selected premium quality optics are manufactured to strict specifications, which can be recognized by the ‘P’ index allocation, where applicable.

The LT Ultra planar mirrors can also be refurbished, and these are identified by the ‘R’ index allocation, where applicable.

All mirror units are generally stock items.

As of summer 2009, we shall have a cost effective range of mirrors suited to our LT Ultra BUS and BUC beam bending units. The product range will include replacement mirrors, compatible with the current units, but without the mounting plate so that they are more economic.
